For more than a decade, Dr. Loren Frankel, OB/GYN and founder of Palmetto Women’s Health, has provided excellent patient care in a facility that truly feels like home.

Personalized attention is the number one priority at Palmetto Women’s Health – an office full of hardworking women who pride themselves on getting to know patients and finding health solutions that fit each individual’s needs and lifestyle.

From helping couples through the transformative process of pregnancy to allowing folks to safely shed excess pounds, the scope of services offered at PWH is vast. Dr. Frankel’s roots in the practice of medicine date back to her grandfather, who, in the process of treating ears, noses and throats, managed to touch a lot of hearts. Her admiration for him set Frankel on the path of becoming a doctor – a career choice she feels blessed to have made daily.

“Once I held a scalpel, I was sure I wanted to be a surgeon, but I wanted a career where I would have the opportunity to develop long relationships like my grandfather did,” said Dr. Frankel. “This path led me to the one place where I could do both. Seeing people through pregnancies was just an added bonus.”

For Dr. Frankel, it’s the details that make all the difference. For instance, by replacing small, flimsy paper gowns with comfy, plush robes, patients become more relaxed and have a more positive experience overall. They feel as though they are less at a doctor’s appointment and more at a spa.

Prior to opening up her own center, Dr. Frankel worked at a handful of clinics, where she saw the need for improvement. Giving her absolute best daily, this mother of three strives to continue to make Palmetto Women’s Health a premier facility.

“I found the practices where a human answered the phone made people feel so much more welcome instead of a computer-based ‘press one for an appointment,’” said Dr. Frankel. “I actually often answer the phones myself when they are ringing off the hook, and boy are patients surprised by that.”

Another unexpected aspect of Palmetto Women’s Health is the fact that they do not help only women attain their goals. Many men are visiting this top-notch gynecological center to improve their health and rev up their metabolism through a variety of weight-loss options.

“Due to the large amount of menopause patients I treat and my expertise with bioidentical hormone treatment, I see a lot of patients complaining of weight gain,” said Dr. Frankel. “This is the number one complaint of menopause. So we added a Center for Medical Weight Loss to the practice, which is successful for both men and women.”
